Abstract
I am heartened by both the tone and substance of Professor Barrys response to my initial remarks. He recognizes what I hoped he would see, namely, that our differences are not as abysmal as he may have assumed, and that a useful exchange on corporate social responsibility must rise above the kind of caricature and name-calling that, alas, seems typicalthough no less inappropriatein our recent political campaigns. The issues outstanding between Professor Barry and myself are still significant, but their careful consideration, I hope, will tend to narrow the space between us.
